THE SHOP
The
shop is unique because of its location in the beautiful rural
setting of a classic North Norfolk malting barley farm which
supplies the brewers with malt, their prime ingredient. These
fine ales are thus reunited with their local roots opening up
the opportunity to rediscover this region’s proud heritage of
great malting barley and ales.
Branthill
Farm enjoys the distinctive coastal climate of North Norfolk
which helps extend the natural ripening process, giving the
malt that superior quality for these superb real ales.
Bottle conditioned ales
have a fresh flavour, full of character and the shop’s friendly
staff are there to help you with your personal selection. An
ale for every occasion from a bottle to an 18 pint beer box!
We have worked closely
with the East Anglian Brewers Association and Crisp Maltings
at Great Ryburgh in order to be able to achieve total traceablity
for the ales in the shop. And, indeed, some of the bottles even
show a grid reference of the actual field where the malting
barley was grown.
The Norfolk brewers in
the shop are: Brancaster Brewery, Buffy's Brewery, Elmtree
Brewery, Elveden Ales, Fox Brewery, Humpty Dumpty Brewery, Iceni
Brewery, The Why Not Brewery, Tipple’s Brewery, Wolf Brewery
and Woodforde’s plus newcomers Beeston Brewery, Blackfriars,
Grain Brewery and Wagtail.
The farm is a member of
LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) which connects farming
with the protection of the local environment. We are proud of
our contribution to preserving the local landscape and wildlife
conservation.
