Last month we held a competition in honour of Captain Vancouver’s 250th celebrations.

Our brewers were asked to supply an ale which was ‘wacky and slightly unusual, pushing the frontiers like brewers are doing on the other side of the Atlantic’.

There was a panel of judges with varying degrees of knowledge of real ales and the overall winner was Norfolk Honey Ale from the Why Not Brewery, Norwich.
This is a golden ale (5% abv) produced with Norfolk honey giving it a delicious honey taste. It now holds a prime position in the shop.
