Privacy Policy

At The Real Ale Shop, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors to our web site. In particular, The Real Ale Shop is not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. We just don’t do that sort of thing. In this Privacy Policy, we’ve provided lots of detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

This site uses cookies – small text files that are placed on your machine to help the site provide a better user experience. In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, store information for things like shopping carts, and provide anonymised tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics. As a rule, cookies will make your browsing experience better. However, you may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser. We suggest consulting the Help section of your browser or taking a look at the About Cookies website which offers guidance for all modern browsers.

As part of the registration process for our e-newsletter, we collect email addresses. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use DADA MAIL to deliver our newsletter. We do not gather statistics around email opening and clicks. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails, or by emailing our data protection officer Teddy Maufe at

When you purchase through our website, we collect your name, address data, email and contact number, which are securely stored: on our online shopping platform, WooCommerce; in transaction alert emails from WooCommerce; and a hard copy for our records. Purchases made in person in the shop are done so without supplying the aforementioned personal data. Please be assured that we do not share your personal details with any other company without your consent.

We do not share any personal information that we collect with any other organisations or businesses.

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to our data protection officer Teddy Maufe at
